John and Pip Cooper are located at Falcon Park at Central Mangrove on the Central Coast of New South Wales, approximately one hour's drive from Sydney. They are equestrian specialists, John in showjumping, dressage and eventing and Pip in dressage. Both are qualified NCAS riding instructors.

John has been Australian National Eventing Champion three times, NSW Rider of the Year four times and achieved 1st and 3rd in the Oceania Landrover Global Rankings. He has campaigned and trained over 35 Advanced horses, won 15 Three Day Events and over 100 One Day Events at Advanced level.

John won his first 3DE (Sydney Advanced 3DE) at the age of 17. He then trained with Christian Plaege in Germany and has competed in the UK, France, Ireland and NZ. He has also coached International riders for three Olympic Games.

Pip is a NCAS Level 2 Dressage Specialist Coach. She competes successfully at FEI Level throughout NSW as well as in SA and Victoria. She has won at State and National level with many Championships to her credit.

Falcon Park is situated at Central Mangrove, in a lovely area of the Central Coast and an easy drive from Sydney. We are about half-an-hour from a selection of beaches, and about one hour from the Hunter Valley. We can provide accommodation for people and horses so you and your horse can come for a visit and include instruction or schooling.

At Falcon Park we give instruction to individuals and groups and train, school and campaign horses. There are regular showjumping and dressage schools and cross country schools organised at home and at different venues

October 14th.

F. Legacy, Masquerade, F. Finn and Apppreciation (owned by K. & T. Perkins) have been competing regularly. All have done well with Finn coming 2nd at Singleton Show on Sept 20th (1.20m) and Legacy with a 3rd in the 1.15m Accumulator and 6th in the D Grade (out of 70 entries) at Nowra on Sept 27th.

Plenty of 'double clears' but that elusive 1st place is still to come!

October 18th and 19th
Somersby Equestrian Club Championships

This was a busy weekend with 6 horses competing.
Saturday was 'Red Ribbon Day'!! with John's two horses, Gibralter, owned by Angela Muller, and Appreciation owned by Karin and Tony Perkins, coming equal second in the Novice Classes and Pip coming 2nd with Falcon Venus in her first competition. John and Gibralter won Reserve Novice Championship.
On Sunday Pip rode Rubellianus (owned by Jill Mooratoff) who won the Novice Championship, and Willowcroft Regal Celebrity (owned by Lyndall Ball of Balledor Stud) who won both his tests (Pony Novice) and was 3rd overall. John rode Falcon Legacy for a 4th place and a 6th place in Novice and Gibralter for a 2nd and a 5th place in Novice.

Boyd Martin who is currently living in Pennysylvania in the US has been competing regularly on Falcon Splash (owned by Suzanne Kloud).

Falcon Splash is by Falcon Jigsaw featured here and like all Jigsaw's line, he has a super jumping technique.

Boyd keeps us up to date with how he and Splash are going. Their most recent competition was Splash's first Advanced 3DE, at Morvan Park where they ended up in 11th place. We are also pleased to see that Falcon Dusky Tiger, also in the US with owner Kevin Keane, has placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in 10 of his 11 starts during 2008.

Venus is just starting her dressage career. Somersby Equestrian Club Championships was not only her first competition, but the first time she had left the property where she was born.

She handled everything well, loaded and travelled no problem and did a very nice first test giving her 2nd place. We were very pleased with her and feel that she has a promising future ahead. She moves well, tries hard and is a very trainable, attractive and well bred young mare.

Kenny is a very trainable, sensible young horse who has been professionally broken in and schooled since. Kenny is showing super potential, both on the flat and over a fence. He has lovely movement with a particularly good canter and should suit someone looking for their horse of the future in eventing, showjumping or dressage.

Owners are no longer competing and focusing on thoroughbreds.
